Of Exams and results

Lakhs of students give some sort of exams every year.

But why is it that only a few get through?

Why is it that still a handful few get so shocked by the results that they are inclined to take the extreme step?
I think the key lies is how you brace up for the exams and consequently the results.

When I give a test, i go back home and spend around half-an-hour in trying to analyse my performance. this way i get a fairly rough idea of how much can i score.
This technique may not be very accurate in subjective style questions but i can assure you a 95% accuracy which i have experienced on myself.
However in objective (read circling the bubbbles:), it is a most accurate tool. One just needs to bear in mind that he/she should tick mark the option in the question paper before he is about to circle it.

This has double benefits:
  1. You get a mirror copy of your response sheet therby allowing you to analyse it later.
  2. You don't commit the common mistake of your mind changing the answer while your pen moves from the rough paper to the bubble.
Do practice these simple techniques and tell me about them since i would love to improve upon them.

Printing Mistakes

Almost every student who has been preparing with the help of third party reference books must have sometime or the other stumbled upon mistakes.

The mistakes can be in the form of misspelt words/terms, incomplete questions, wrong option written in the answer key and so on.

I recently ordered and online test package of ten tests at the price of Rs.1200/- and to my dismay the first test itself contained more than 10 mistakes. We need to look into this matter and consider that an online community should be developed where people can report any kind of such mistakes they encounter.

Goodbye till the next post.

Beginning of a new chapter

I wish that i could have continued my previous efforts at blogging.
But after a long hiatus, here i am again.

I have aimed this blog for the general reader.
People with all sorts of interest could find something to please them on this page and thus goes the title 'Everything...once in a while'.

However I plan to diversify my blogs in separate interests, thus targeting a broader audience

Lets pray for a great journey ahead.!
